Peter Sparrey
Stoneware & Porcelain

Peter Sparrey is a British studio potter living and working in Normandie, France, producing finely thrown studio pottery from a stoneware clay body dug locally in St. Amand and a fine porcelain body manufactured by Valentine Clays Ltd., Stoke-on-Trent, England.
Using a variety of techniques rich colour development is achieved in the glazes. Ranging from deeply intense iron bearing tenmoku, vibrant ’sang de boeuf’ copper reds and cool celadon, ash and chun glazes. Most pieces are reduction fired to 1300 degrees centigrade in a gas kiln.
