Phil Rogers

PHIL ROGERS is a well-known British potter. Renowned for his salt-glazed and ash-glazed pots as well as for his highly skilled throwing, he lectures and gives demonstrations all over the world on these subjects.
The Oakwood Gallery has exhibited work by Phil Rogers since 1999 and in 2003 hosted the most succesful solo exhibition of his career up to that point.
A special feature of Phil's 2003 exhibition was a special edition of twenty-five boxed yunomi all of which in adition to Phil's personal mark were impressed with a special Oakwood Gallery mark (see image). LARGE JAR

Stoneware, glazed in a good tenmoku with a nuka type glaze to the neck and shoulder. A very strong bottle by Phil. Lovely oriental form with good decoration of three raised bands with impressed pattern. Impressed personal mark. I like this piece a lot!

TALL FACETED CADDY

A tall cut-sided (faceted) stoneware caddy by Phil Rogers. The caddy is glazed in a good tenmoku which has broken to rust nicely highlighting all the edges. Impressed PR to the outside of the foot ring.
