Oakwoodceramics are delighted to exhibit teabowls and yunomi by Phil Rogers. Phil is one of the UK's leading interpreter's of the teabowl form and has a very real uderstanding and feel for teabowls
Some of the bowls are wood-fired from recent firings. There are also some rather good shino glazed bowls exhibited in this exhibition. Phil's bowls have a wonderful chadamari (small circular depression in the well of the bowl) which is a very important element of the teabowl form. The remaining tea after drinking from the bowl should fill this depression up to its shoulder forming an ascetically pleasing circle of tea in the well of the bowl. The chadamari is one of the main features of a true teabowl.
