Shiro Tsujimura

Shiro Tsujimura is one of only a handful of Japanese potters who are well known in the West. Shiro's bowls are regularly to be seen in Bonhams specialist International Contemporary Ceramics auctions.
In Japan Shiro Tsujimura is one of the most important potters' his chawan are highly collected and highly prized.
This wonderful bowl is a rare piece in as much as it was made in England during Shiro Tsujimura's stay in 1993. Many pieces made during his working stay were exhibited in a Solo Exhibition held by the highly respected London gallery, Galerie Besson in May 1994.

There is a small repair in gold to an area of glaze loss just below the rim. The bowl is signed with Tsujimura's personal incised mark. Signed Box (Kabako)
