Euan Craig first began making pots
in 1978 when living in Bendigo, Australia. He was born in Melborne
in 1964. He graduated from Bendigo TAFE College, T.O.P. Art &
Design in 1981, later he graduated from the Latrobe University,
Bendigo B.A. Arts, Ceramic Design. On graduating he established
his own pottery in Swan Hill, Australia in 1985.
Euan moved to Japan in 1990 joining Tatsuzo Shimaoka in Mashiko
in 1991 as a Deshi (Apprentice) see Euan's article about a day in

After four years working for Shimaoka he left and established his
own independent pottery and wood fired kiln in Mashiko moving his
pottery and kiln in 2000 to Ichikai.
Euan has held numerous solo and group exhibitions, taught workshops
and summer schools and presented at art conferences and forums in
Japan, Australia and the United Kingdom. He has also written several
articles for ceramic magazines in Australia and the United States.
