Gilles
le Corre
Stoneware
Gilles
le Corre trained at Camberwell School of Art and Crafts. His
work is mainly thrown functional stoneware, fired in a reduction
atmosphere with glazes that are brushed dipped and trailed. Gilles
pots evolve from previous forms carrying forward ideas from one
to another, freely manipulating or incising individual pieces of
soft clay. His fascination and development with high-fired glaze
decoration leads to simple shapes, allowing surfaces, texture to
express qualities found in the landscapes, stones and archaeological
artifacts.
