Hans
Vangsø
Hans Vangsø is one of
Denmark's leading potters. His Chawans (Teabowls) have a quiet simplicity,
spiritually Vangsø is related to Eastern ceramics particularly
"Mingei", a word which Yanagi used to describe an aesthetic
truth which he saw only in folk art.
The bowls are fired several times to obtain the textural glazes and
volcanic/pitted surfaces and subtle colours that Hans seeks. His bowls
are rare and much sought after. Oakwoodceramics are delighted to exhibit
work by this very important Danish potter. |
