Tea Bowl:
Porcelain,celadon glaze with brushed tenmoku hakeme style to the outside. NB. The slightly everted rim so characteristic of Jian bowls. All the bowls by Chris are perhaps closer to Chinese teabowl form than to Japanese. They owe I think much to the wonderful and much admired Jian ware hare's fur and oil silver hare's fur bowls that so inspired the early Japanese Tea Masters.
