Marrianne de Trey 1913- was born in London of Swiss parents,she attended the Royal College of Art studying textile design. In 1938 she married Sam Haile and moved to the USA returning to England in 1945 becoming a full time potter with Haile at Bulmers Brickyard, Sudbury, Suffolk. In 1947 she and Haile take over Shinner's Bridge Pottery, Dartington.
Marrianne de Trey is well known for a range of domestic ware which was designed and made at Shinner's Bridge until the late eighties when production ceased and she concentrated on making individual pieces mainly in porcelain. There are many examples of her work in the studio pottery collection of the V&A Museum London.

Flared Bowl.
Porcelain, glazed in a silky soft green celadon. This finely thrown and fluted bowl is a real delight made sometime in the 90's by this delightful potter. The piece is impressed with the potter's personal seal and is in perfect condition. A gem
