are delighted to exhibit Mark Griffiths
new and wonderful work.
Mark has been making pots since 1973, he was first apprenticed to
Colin Carr, Frizt Stellar and Russell Collins 1973, 74, 75 respectively.
In 1976 he set up his first workshop and in 1982 moved to his present
workshop in rural Shropshire. He was elected a fellow of the CPA
in 1996.
We have known and admired Mark's stoneware since he first switched
to making it in 1995. Up to this point [1995] he was producing terracotta
garden pots, some of which were very large, Mark rightly became
acclaimed as one of the best large ware thrower's making in the
UK.
In 2000 Mark again returned to making terracotta which included
commissioned works for Hampton Court, Powis Castle and in 2004 for
Dyrham Park. We are grateful that in late 2006 he again returned
to making reduced stoneware.
