Chris
Carter is one of the most highly regarded potters working in
the UK. He specialises in volcanic type glazes. Much of his work
is multi fired as he modifies and adds to the surface, always seeking
a textural surface that has strong reference to the natural world.
His inspiration comes from the land, and the effects that the weather,
time and man leave on it.

LARGE THROWN JAR
A really good thrown jar by
Chris. Textured surface. This jar was purchased from the Hart Gallery.
Chris has had many Solo Exhibitions at the Hart Gallery over the
last 15 years. I like this form which is very Oriental in feel.
The quality of the potting and glazing illustrates well just how
fine a potter Chris Carter is. Personal mark to the base.
Size, diameter, 18.0 cm height, 17.5 cm

ARROW
FORM VASE (2000)
Multi-Fired Stoneware.
A good composite vessel form by Chris Carter. This vessel form is made from
two separately thrown pieces and is one of the best example's I have seen.
Great form, balance and texture, if you admire Chris Carter's work then
this piece ought to be for you!
Signed on the base with the personal mark of the potter.
