Oakwoodceramics are pleased
to offer a selection of carefully chosen books that are directly
about ceramics or related to ceramics by virtue of being written
by potters.
Many of the books are difficult to find and in many cases very rare,
many are now out of print. All copies we offer will be in the best
possible condition and complete with original dust jackets.
Over the next couple of weeks I am hoping to re-stock these book
section pages with more books for sale. In addition to an image
of each book I will discribe the books using the approved book trade
grading system as follows:
Book Grading for your
Guidance
As New/Near Mint - Used when the book is in the same immaculate
condition to which it was published. No defects, no missing pages,
no library stamps, etc., and the dust jacket (if it was issued with
one) is without any tears.
Fine (F or FN) - Approaches the condition of As New, but
without being crisp. If the book or jacket has a small tear, or
other defect, or looks worn, this should be noted.
Very Good (VG) - The book shows some small signs of wear
- but no tears - on either binding or paper. Any defects require
a note in the book description.
Good (G) - Describes the average used worn book that has
all pages or leaves present. Any defects require a note in the book
description.
Fair - Worn book that has complete text pages (including
those with maps or plates) but may lack endpapers, half-title, etc.
Binding, jacket (if any), etc., may also be worn. Any defects require
a note in the book description.
Poor - Describes a book that is sufficiently worn, to the
point that its only merit is as a reading copy because it does have
the complete text, which is legible. Any missing maps or plates
should still be noted. This copy may be soiled, scuffed, stained
or spotted and may have loose joints, hinges, pages, etc.
We have many more
books in stock, if you would like to be sent a regular catalogue
of all available titles please contact oakwoodceramics with your
